The level of freedom is comparable to Hitman: Blood Money (there is even the option to strip enemies and steal their clothing), and the lack of enforced silence means when things go belly-up, you can crack open the heavy machine guns and simply murder your way out. The controls and systems are all fairly clunky, and the AI of your squadmates is never up to scratch, but the thrill of the Hidden & Dangerous campaign is absolutely worth pushing through the niggles for.
Much like the first game, Steel Division: Normandy ‘44, the sequel is peerless when it comes to representing the scale of warfare. It offers large maps with strict, unnatural borders to give you a cross-section of a large-scale combat operation. You have tanks, troops, and aircraft under your control, but your focus is always on the battlefield rather than where you’re drawing these forces from.
With Battlefield 1942, it felt like the FPS genre was evolving. Until DICE released the first in what would be an enduring series, multiplayer games were mostly concerned with the glory of the individual. They were about fast reflexes and kill counts. Battlefield 1942, however, is all about cooperation.
These days, it often feels like Battlefield and Call of Duty compete with each other. When Call of Duty went back to World War 2 with Call of Duty: World War 2, Battlefield came in a bit later with Battlefield 5.
The amazing set-pieces and wealth of gameplay modes help World at War stand out as one of the most underrated Call of Duty games ever made. Any fan of World War 2 games should check this game out for themselves, with the co-op campaign being pretty engaging in its own right.
Who won game 1 of the world series

Both games at Dodger Stadium came down to a bases-loaded situation, and they both ended with an L.A. victory. Now, the Dodgers are just two wins away from their second World Series title in the last five years and their first in a full season since 1988.
It was a tense game, and the two biggest stars were bottled up. Sluggers Ohtani and Aaron Judge combined to hit only 2 for 10 — though Ohtani hit a double in the eighth that set up Betts’s game-tying sacrifice.
Freeman’s homer was the first walk-off grand slam in World Series history as well as the third Series walk-off homer of any kind for a team that was trailing, following Joe Carter’s World Series-winning home run for the Toronto Blue Jays in 1993 and Kirk Gibson’s Game 1-winning home run for the Dodgers in 1988. In particular, Freeman’s home run was widely compared to Gibson’s off the Athletics’ Dennis Eckersley, as both players were playing through injuries at the time and the Dodgers were down by a run and down to their last out in Game 1 of the World Series. Fox broadcaster Joe Davis’ call of “…she is gone!” echoed that of legendary Dodgers and then-NBC broadcaster Vin Scully for the Gibson homer, and Davis also added, “Gibby, meet Freddie!” Both Gibson’s and Freeman’s home runs were to right field at Dodger Stadium in almost the same spot and both came at 8:37 PM Pacific Time. Game 1 has been widely referred to as one of the greatest World Series games of all time.
“This trophy is what makes you go through the grind every day,” Freeman said after the game. “When you step in Spring Training in February, your eyes are on that. You do everything you can, that’s what’s worth it for me. I got here at 10:30 in the morning, got treatment and made it just in time for the hitter’s meeting. I’ll start it all over tomorrow because winning a World Series is everything.”
