Thankfully, the four teams fighting for their respective pennants set the bar impossibly high with two of the most exciting series yet. The Mets and Dodgers duked it out for the National League title while the Yankees and Guardians did the same for the American, and it’s safe to say both matchups delivered.

But Volpe didn’t score, with Yankees third base coach Luis Rojas thinking Kiké Hernández could possibly catch the ball and signaling to Volpe to hold up. As a result, Volpe only advanced to third.
