If the game went differently for the Yankees, maybe Kahnle would have had a chance to make a difference. This has virtually no impact on the narrative within the TV series itself, because the Dothraki Sea and Qarth are the farthest east that the narrative has ever gone, and hardly anything east of those locations has even been mentioned in the TV series. Barely anything was known about them from the core novels themselves, just from subsequent sourcebooks such as The Lands of Ice and Fire or The World of Ice & Fire 2014 sourcebook.
