The Dodgers rookie tossed 12 2/3 innings of one-run baseball against the White Sox. After multi-inning saves in Games 2 and 3, Sherry won Games 4 and 6. He relieved Podres in the fourth inning of Game 6 and finished the game, 5 2/3 scoreless to secure a World Series title.
After a 60-game regular season, the Dodgers played four rounds of an expanded playoff format to win their first championship in more than 30 years. The entire series was held at the Texas Rangers’ Globe Life Field, and Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager was named MVP after hitting .400 with two homers.

Chengdu will be able to provide all the facilities and the necessary infrastructure to meet the challenge which comes with the increased numbers of participants. Following the principles of the IWGA, the construction of new sports facilities is not required. And in Chengdu it’s not needed at all, because there is already a more than sufficient number of high-class venues in place.
Chengdu can refer to some experience in hosting multi-sport events. Chengdu organised the World Police and Fire Games in 2019 and the FISU World University Games in 2023. Joachim Gossow: “Seeing all the assets the city offers, we are looking forward to showcasing our event in Chengdu, because we experienced especially the enthusiasm of the city, but in addition the support of the Chinese Olympic Committee for our Games and the non-Olympic sports.”
*Please note that the reporting processes to the IWGA regarding Competition Manipulation is done through the International Olympic Committee and regarding Doping through the International Testing Agency. For both topics, you will be redirected to the corresponding platforms. IWGA will be informed of any report submitted through these platforms.
