Yes, she can sneak up behind a stormtrooper or guard and knock them out silently… but then she has to just leave the body where it is and hope nobody comes across it (they will absolutely come across it) pop smoke rose. Nix, Kay’s animal buddy, is the primary stealth tool, but he isn’t as useful as one might imagine. Yes, Nix can do things like set off explosive barrels from a distance, but that usually ended up making more trouble for me instead of helping (as swarms of curious guards arrived to check out the blast, making it that much harder to find a place to actually hide). Nix is most useful in luring guards away from their posts so you can silently take them down, but he can only distract one at a time, and the controls for doing it are often tediously frustrating to get just right.
Kay Vess is voiced by Humberly González (Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Ginny & Georgia). Her alien companion Nix is voiced by Dee Bradley Baker (Star Wars: The Bad Batch, American Dad). The full cast has not been revealed, though we know Outlaws will include characters both new and old. Among the old is Jabba the Hutt, who Massive confirmed will assign Kay missions from his palace on Tatooine. Among the new is the battle droid ND-5 (voiced by Jay Rincon), who fought in the Clone Wars before taking up a life in the underworld.
This new entry sets the bar pretty high for future LEGO releases, bringing a lot to the table with over 300 characters and plenty of ships to speed around the galaxy in, not to mention the rich and surprisingly funny experience that awaits you thanks to all new levels and cutscenes spanning the nine main films in the franchise. Whether it’s on Switch or another platform, I can safely say that fans of LEGO Star Wars won’t want to miss out on this one.
