President-elect Donald Trump attended SpaceX’s sixth flight test of its Super Heavy-Starship on Tuesday with CEO Elon Musk. The burgeoning friendship between the two men played a key role in Trump’s reelection, with Musk now set to run a government efficiency agency in the coming months. In the summer months leading up to the Little League World Series, held each year in August, Little Leagues around the world select All-Star teams made up of players from each league. It is these All-Star teams that compete in district, sectional and/or divisional, and regional tournaments, hoping to advance to Williamsport for the Little League World Series. How many games a team has to play varies from region to region. In the United States, the tournaments at the lowest (district) level lack nationwide standardization. Some use pool play or double elimination, while others use single elimination.

Yankees dodgers world series game 3
“Like I’ve been saying the last few days, those days off were huge for me,” Freeman said. “I got my ankle in a spot where every single game afterwards, it’s not as it was in the NLCS and NLDS. … I got my ankle in a spot where I could work on my swing, and I got it into a good spot, thankfully, going into the series.”
With the entire series taking place at Petco Park in San Diego due to pandemic-related health and safety protocols, Tampa Bay won the first three games before the Astros got back in it with a pair of one-run victories, the second on a walk-off homer by Carlos Correa. Houston also took Game 6, putting up seven runs on 11 hits and nine walks in a 7-4 victory that gave the team a shot at history.
The Dodgers dropped the first two games of the series at Yankee Stadium, but it turns out a shift to Dodger Stadium changed everything. Fernando Valenzuela pitched Los Angeles to a much-needed 5-4 win in Game 3 — the first of three consecutive one-run victories for the Dodgers. That set the stage for L.A. to close out the series in the Bronx in Game 6 behind a huge effort from Pedro Guerrero, who went 3-for-5 with a triple, a homer and five RBIs.
Another run came in the third, when NLCS MVP Tommy Edman drew a walk, advanced to second on an Ohtani groundout and then made a great read on Mookie Betts’ opposite-field single to right to motor home and make it 3-0. The Dodgers could have broken the game open that inning after they loaded the bases and compelled Boone to go to his bullpen by bringing in Mark Leiter Jr. with two outs. But Will Smith grounded out to end the threat.
But this World Series is remembered far more for what happened in Game 5. In arguably the most impressive performance in Major League Baseball history — let alone World Series history — Yankees right-hander Don Larsen retired all 27 batters to record the only perfect game in postseason history. Larsen racked up seven strikeouts, including getting Dale Mitchell looking to finish off New York’s 2-0 victory at Yankee Stadium. Mickey Mantle put the Yanks on the board with a fourth-inning homer that proved to be more than enough support for Larsen.
